Since my divorce 7 years ago I had suffered from crippling stomach pain Headaches and anxiety attacks.

At first friends and loved ones just put this down to the terrible situation I had found myself in.

Test after test showed I hadn’t a severe illness but still I was 4 times a week left in pain with bloating anxiety and migraines.

So tired of constant tests and western meds that made me feel worse I decided to look into an alternative.

Seven weeks on a Movie in 2015 gave me enough time to take a nutrition course.

I needed to know how our bodies could react to changes in food and lifestyle, I kept food diary’s and stress diaries and started to work out my triggers.

Time of month played a huge part in the frequency of my IBS attacks so I needed to learn more about the changes in hormones through out the monthly cycle.

I studied what supplements, herbs, and homeopathic meds could try and ease the pain I was in.

My first port of call was a fab herbalist in North London, we decided I needed Magnesium to help with sleep and headaches and monthly cycle along side Agnes cactus for bloating and digestion and primrose oil for the PMS symptoms

After about three months I could feel a difference in the Monthly IBS symptoms but still had IBS at sporadic times so needed to study further.

Wine was always a problem so I change to spirits or wine with no added sulphate, this enabled me to go out and enjoy my evening rather then having a stomach attack.

Food was so hit or miss that I decided that when at home I would become vegan following the wonderfully inspiring Deliciously Ella who I cannot thank enough for her wisdom and wonderfully easy recipes.

Acupuncture also was on my list of things to try and I religiously went every week for three months, my bank balance suffered but my body felt amazing, I now go once a month and it has re programmed my liver and my stomach in turn

Being a fitness addict I decided I should try Hot yoga, for the first month I felt terrible after every class, my stomach in pieces and upset but the yogis told me this was my body healing from the inside out.

4 months in I now suffer maybe only once a month, I take hot yoga classes 6 times a week combined with running and my tummy very rely bloats.

I would strongly recommend once you have had tests for anything more sinister and your outcome is IBS please just try the alternative route and fingers crossed you get a new lease of life like I have.
